IWT 2015’s keynote speakers are high-profile science researchers
Three heavyweight names from the areas of Digital Communication, Optical & Wireless Communication, and Computer Networks have been chosen as keynote speakers at the International Workshop on Telecommunications – IWT 2015. The participation of high-profile researchers sets the tone of the event’s sixth iteration, which takes place in the year of Inatel’s fiftieth anniversary.
In the area of Digital Communication, Professor Dr. Chengshan Xiao, current Director of Conference Publications of the IEEE Communications Society, is going to present his contributions in the field of multiple-input and multiple-output antennas with a view to enhance the spectral efficiency of communications systems when discrete constellations are employed.
For her part, Professor Dr. Sarah Wilson, elevated to IEEE Fellow this year for her accomplishments in the area of Wireless Communications using multiple carriers, is going to showcase her research work integrating wireless communication techniques with optical communications systems, both of which are fields of great interest for Inatel researchers.
The third name in the list is that of Professor Lisandro Zambenedetti Granville, R&D director at the Center for Development of Information and Communication Technologies of the National Research Network – CTIC/RNP in the Portuguese acronym. The Center has funded research projects in Digital TV at Inatel. In addition to coordinating the CTIC/RNP, professor Granville is the president of IEEE’s Committee on Network Operations and Management and his research work on Software-defined Computer Networks has been breaking paradigms in network management.
As well as keynote speakers of renown, IWT counts on the participation of 46 researchers in its technical evaluation committee, 19 of whom coming from reputable international learning institutions. According to the event’s technical program chair, professor Dr. Luciano Leonel Mendes, this group of excellent professionals guarantees the high quality of papers presented at IWT 2015.
Another highlight of IWT 2015, says Dr. Mendes, is the support of the IEEE Communication Society, which will allow all papers accepted and presented at the event to be made available on the world’s largest Electrical Engineering databank: IEEE Xplore.
IWT 2015 takes place between June 14 and June 17 next year, at the Inatel campus in Santa Rita do Sapucaí, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Read the keynote speakers’ complete résumés and learn more about the event at www.inatel.br/iwt.
