Telescópio James Webb

O lançamento do telescópio espacial James Webb (JWST) já está na posição de lançamento, se tudo ocorrer bem, o lançamento será neste sábado de Natal (25/dezembro). Depois de décadas de desenvolvimento, essa é a missão mais cara da história da Nasa. Entre os objetivos estão: observação da formação das primeiras galáxias e estrelas, estudar a evolução das galáxias, ver a produção dos elementos pelas estrelas e ver os processos de formação das estrelas e dos planetas. O James Webb ficará em uma órbita distante da Terra - um dos pontos de Lagrange (L2 - ponto L2 está localizado na parte exterior da órbita terrestre ao longo da reta que une a Terra e o Sol).

O espelho principal do JWST, o Elemento Telescópio Óptico, consiste em 18 segmentos de espelho hexagonal feitos de berílio banhado a ouro que se combinam para criar um espelho de 6,5 m de diâmetro - consideravelmente maior que o espelho de 2,4 m do Hubble. Ao contrário do telescópio Hubble, que observa nos espectros ultravioleta próximo, visível e infravermelho próximo (0,1 a 1 μm), o JWST observará em uma faixa de frequência mais baixa, desde a luz visível de longo comprimento de onda até o infravermelho médio (0,6 a 28,3 μm), o que permitirá que ele observe objetos com alto redshift que são muito antigos e distantes para o Hubble observar. O telescópio deve ser mantido muito frio a fim de observar no infravermelho sem interferência, de modo que será implantado no espaço próximo ao ponto de Lagrange Sol-Terra L2, a cerca de 1,5 milhão de quilômetros (930.000 mi) da Terra (0,01 au - 3,9 vezes o distância da Lua). Uma grande proteção solar feita de Kapton revestido de silicone e alumínio manterá seu espelho e instrumentos abaixo de 50 K (−223 ° C; −370 ° F).

Não foi dessa vez que Carlsen perdeu o título de campeão mundial de xadrez. Na verdade, o placar de 7,5 x 3,5 em 11 rodadas foi bastante favorável ao campeão. Em nenhum momento o desafiante Ian Nepomniachtchi conseguiu ficar muito superior durantes as partias, Carlsen jogou bastante sólido e aproveitou todos os erros cometidos pelo seu oponente. Posição final depois de 43 Df3 e negras abandonam. Não havia mais nada a fazer.

Depois de algumas imprecisões por parte de Nepo, Carlsen ficou com o jogo fácil, jogou de forma bastante sólida e não deixou chance alguma para o seu oponente se recuperar. Com essa segunda vitória, Carlsen praticamente garante a manutenção do título mundial, "basta" continuar jogando com a concentração que vem demonstrando. Você concorda?

With 6 games to go, Magnus' 2-point lead makes me think about the chances. I believe the odds now are 97/3 and the destiny of the match has mostly been decided. Yet I genuinely hope the rest day tomorrow will recharge Ian and in the second half of the match, we see a completely different player - the true Samurai in action! I am most definitely sure he is capable of keeping the intrigue until the very end and it's never over until it's over!

Divulgando: vagas para o mestrado em Engenharia de Telecomunicações do IFCE (2022.1)

De 6 a 22 de dezembro, estarão abertas as inscrições para a seleção de discentes do Mestrado Acadêmico em Engenharia de Telecomunicações do IFCE - PPGET. Poderão se inscrever, para uma das 22 vagas oferecidas, portadores de diploma oficial ou reconhecido ou ainda de certificado de conclusão em caráter provisório de curso superior de licenciatura plena, de bacharelado ou de tecnologia nas áreas de Engenharias ou Ciências Exatas.

O Mestrado Acadêmico em Engenharia de Telecomunicações tem área de concentração em Sistemas de Telecomunicações, com as seguintes linhas de pesquisas: Micro-ondas e Óptica Integrada (10 vagas); Informação Quântica (3 vagas); Processamento de Sinais (9 vagas).

Recomendado pela CAPES, o Mestrado é diurno e tem duração prevista de 24 meses, incluindo o tempo de elaboração da dissertação de Mestrado, prorrogáveis, a critério do Colegiado do Curso, por mais seis meses. A carga horária de disciplinas é de 360 horas. Em virtude do cenário referente à pandemia de COVID- 19 e da legislação relativa, o curso poderá ser ofertado de forma remota, presencial ou híbrida.

De acordo com a Resolução nº 32, de 4 de dezembro de 2020 (Política de Ações Afirmativas para os cursos de Pós-Graduação Stricto e Lato Sensu do IFCE), 20% do total de vagas oferecidas são reservadas para candidatos negros (pretos e pardos) e indígenas (PPI) e 10% para pessoas com deficiência (PCD).
